Product scope and MVP
Define the customer, their core task and the features needed for a minimum viable product. Agree what the first release should prove before adding more plans, roles or workflows.
Turn a repeatable customer problem into a software product people can use online. Noko Mohoto Technologies develops custom SaaS applications for South African founders and businesses, with the core workflow, customer access and operating tools agreed around your first release.
Software as a service, or SaaS, gives customers ongoing access to an application you operate. Building it means thinking beyond the main feature: how customers join, how their information stays separate, what each user can do and how your team supports the service. We start with the problem, the intended users and the smallest complete workflow that can test your product with real customers.
These are starting points for scoping. We agree the features, controls and connections your organisation needs before development.
Define the customer, their core task and the features needed for a minimum viable product. Agree what the first release should prove before adding more plans, roles or workflows.
Design sign-in, invitations and scoped roles around individual customers or organisations. Where a multi-tenant product is needed, define and test the boundaries between each organisation's records and actions.
Plan registration, initial setup, customer workspaces and account settings so users can reach the product's main task. Imports, guided setup and self-service features are included where agreed.
Scope subscriptions, trials, plan entitlements and payment-provider connections around your business model. Recurring payments, billing events, failed payments and cancellation behaviour depend on the selected provider and agreed requirements.
Give your authorised team the customer, support and operational views it needs. Define who may change account access, investigate issues or export records, with activity history where required.
Agree deployment, monitoring, backups, recovery and support responsibilities. Expected usage and performance targets guide the architecture and testing; later capacity changes can be planned against measured demand.
For example, a SaaS product for teams might start with one organisation creating its workspace and completing a shared task. This is a planning example, not an existing product package.
A customer creates an account, sets up an organisation and invites the people who need access to the first workflow.
Users work within their assigned roles and organisation's records, with clear progress and an agreed result they can review.
The customer manages relevant account settings while your team handles support and agreed plan or billing changes through controlled admin tools.
A useful starting point is a specific customer and a recurring problem you understand. We can help shape that into a buildable first release, including the less visible work needed to operate the product.
The scope covers features, customer boundaries, roles, integrations and release criteria. We also agree data handling, expected usage, hosting, payment-provider costs and ongoing maintenance. A subscription business model for your customers is separate from how you commission development from NMT; billing features and operating costs are not automatically included in the build price.
Yes. We scope and build custom software-as-a-service products around an agreed customer problem and first release. An MVP focuses on a useful end-to-end workflow plus the account, administration and operating features needed to put it in front of early users.
A multi-tenant application can be designed for separate customer organisations, each with its own users and records. We agree the tenant model, role permissions and any cross-organisation access before implementation, then test those boundaries. Some products may need a different deployment or data model, depending on their requirements.
Subscription and billing features can be included after assessing your chosen payment provider, account eligibility and supported payment methods. We separately scope plans, trials, access entitlements, billing events, failed payments, cancellations and refunds where needed. Provider charges and merchant approval are outside the development fee.
The cost and schedule depend on the core workflow, number of roles, customer separation, integrations, data requirements and release criteria. We quote an agreed first release and discuss hosting, monitoring, support and future development separately so you can plan the ongoing cost of operating the product.
No. NMT's no-forced-subscription approach describes how you commission our development services. Your own SaaS product can offer subscriptions or another pricing model. We agree your product's billing behaviour, development terms and any hosting or ongoing support charges separately.
Our Nexium Graphics work includes customer portals, verified payments and controlled administration. Our Leshilo Attorneys work includes role-scoped workspaces and protected records. Explore those case studies to see how we have implemented customer access, operational workflows and administration in existing applications.
Tell us who the product is for, what they need to do and what you want to learn from a first release. We will help define the MVP and, where practical, preview part of the experience.
